The whole concept of promotion on the BMP was a bad move.
This was also a bad move.
They could of avoided the QQ by simply selling it without any promotion and calling it the 'mission pack'.

Honestly, I think this would be worse to me than if they started selling the Divine Aura. You're obviously not a collector.

Actually, you're wrong about me, I have all three collectors edition of Guild Wars, and two unopened collectors edition of Nightfall and Factions. I've been trying to purchase another collectors editions of prophecies but don't want to pay $500 for one. Eventually I will buy that one though. I have all Guild Wars games except the BMP which I didn't have the opportunity because I didn't play GW during the promotion, otherwise I would had bought it. And guess what? If I had bought it back then, and then found out they were going to sell it in stores, I'd buy that too! Specially if the box meant alot to me! Besides, it's only $10 bucks! It's not like its $39-$50! $10 bucks is like 2 gallons of gas, or cheaper than even a movie ticket! Buying it online saved you the trip and the gas! so just pay the $10 bucks and get the box! Just pretend the $10 was shipping costs...

What made me feel most strongly about getting it again, was this was playable content, not the weapons. Weapons and divine aura i can understand being a one time thing, but not playable content. Also i have no idea what some of you are saying where it was cheaper in stores. It was the same exact price where i was, except i had to pay tax + gas money to and from where i got it, and for what, a box? Although now i have to find a way to get it online....guess ill borrow a friends credit card or something. If he will let me >_>

Exactly, someone with common sense!

The BMP was always FREE!

Now its gonna cost me around 9 euro's, which is totally worth it, considering the Eye of the north pre release was only 5 euro and 3 weapons in it, this is a great deal because you have a sick ammount of weapons available now and i hope some very cool missions, i dont know anything about the missions so leave the spoilers ^^

Anet specifically stated that they will not rerelease this content...and those that qualify can reap the rewards. Many people assumed the BMP was going to be terrible (if you don't believe me, search). I stood my ground and supported Anet. I knew this was going to be something good. Now that Anet has revealed its surprise...a flashy set of weapons...there was a QQ uproar. Anet offered this again...making me...a person who wanted to buy the box and wait a few months to see the majority's reaction to it to risk it and go for it. That is why i feel betrayed.

Besides...Anet did not offer any other items back did they? Should i create a topic about feeling left out of the CE edition extra material because i thought it wasn't worth it at first and now its great?
Okay so its mostly about the box then, why dont you go get it afterall? i mean seriously its only 10 bucks, and you could give the BMP to a friend or good guild mate, i quite understand your story, and i like boxes to but now is the offer to go after and all i can say is go for it anyway.

You shouldnt need to create a thread about the CE's though, the first one is very rare now but i can still find factions CE and nightfall CE pretty quick, oh and i bought prophecies and factions first to begin, after i found out the CE's i did buy them because those are just plain awesome, yes i already payed for gw and on top of that another 140 euros just to get prophecies and factions ce, nightfall was a direct CE purchase though.

You can buy character slots at a retail store?

I have a better solution:

1. Give a character slot to people with BMP access, for FREE.
2. Release BMP for everybody, for FREE.

I only think this would cause more QQ to be honest.

At Witchblade: I think your post was kind of fuel for this argument...i seriously and undoubtably want this argument to stop...

The BMP was FREE (look up the definition of 'free')

It wasn't offered for retail purchase at the time.

I really don't mind the 10 bucks. The people that make the game should be rewarded for creating the extra content. (From what i see they work pretty hard for a company that doesn't charge a monthly fee us to play their game)

yippie.. one best thing of Anet I've heard for a long time yet.
When the improve now only finally the online store for european countries to the Amazon payment system...by simmple paying with Online Banking System..it would be perfect.

Then needs only Anet to give us an adress, we need to send our transfers to..and finish..rest of the work do then our banks.
Also with different kinds of money there is no problem with online banking, because the bank of anet will change all kinds of incoming different money to the kind of money anet's wishs in the correct trade value.

Say wwe make now some transvers and pay with our Euro's... but Naet wants to have US Dollar on their bank account...than will all incoming other kinds of money be exchanged into US Dollar.

When Online Bankign will become finally "normal" to the online store.. then I'll scream cause of happyness, then I say finally hello to the online store and be able, to buy more character slots, the bmp, and some other things, hopefully someday then also these little preorder packs which I'm missing, for the special items, like especially the Icy Soul Breaker Scythe...still one of the most best lookign scythes of all and i want it so badly for my Derv, but i couldn't preorder it, cause it was so extreme quick sold out ...

$10 for 2 gallons of gas? Jeez, glad I don't live there.

Just as you have the opportunity to now buy the BMP (which, as a collector, I was collecting), I would like the opportunity to buy the box. We both missed out on something different and now we both want it.

So, we're both collectors. I'm not sure why you're arguing against me. If I had known I'd have the opportunity to buy the BMP later, I would have bought the box first instead.

I'm really happy that the people who truly missed out on the BMP now have a chance to experience the missions and yes, the weapons. It's nice that you can play it now.

However, I am a tad annoyed at the way the promotion was worded, the evasive manner in which questions were answered (or ignored) about the promotion while it was on, and the about turn that has taken place.

I wasn't too worried about the BMP myself, I bought extra items in the online store, stuff I didn't really need to support Anet because they had this exclusive thing going on.

I should have just saved my money, could have saved nearly 2/3 of what I spent (3 char slots - 2 still not used) to get the bmp.

I won't stop playing GW simply because it's not costing me money to, but sure as hell I won't be buying anything else from Anet, GW related or not.

Ok, so the promotion is that it will be for sale in retail stores, just not actually "on sale". This "bonus" content in stores will definitely "promote" GW players who missed out to play these extra missions. Good for them.

The fact that it will also be for sale online is not much to holler about. Many want the box.

-

To be honest, I didn't think they would've announced it this so soon, maybe 'til the end of February at the earliest. Kind of a bad move to offer it this early when the wounds are still a bit tender. It's likely to lead to a scar for some Anet supporters. Oh well.

They already got the money for BMP. If they want REAL money, they could make a new GW1 campaign.
